Gardening Miller Style

Two years ago Jon dug up a section of our backyard and grew a garden full of tomato's, squash and zucchini. Nothing was planted last year since we were a little overwhelmed with everything that was going on with Iann, but Jon did spend some time building a raised garden. Over the past ten months he has been filling it with grass cuttings, leaves, food scraps and dirt.

Each time he throws something substantial in there, Brynn climbs in to tramp it down. This evening, Iann wanted to join in the fun.

It will be interesting to see what grows this summer!

On another note, I realize that I haven't given updates on my last few posts. Iann's appointment with the ENT a few weeks ago resulted in us being sent to get an x-ray taken of his adenoids. Sure enough, they are huge, blocking his airway. This is more apparent when he is relaxed and sleeping, so his brain is waking him up to move into a better position for breathing. Apparently this can happen up to seven times an hour, but it doesn't always fully wake him up. Regardless, the Dr's are quite sure that he isn't getting a restful night's sleep. Not restful at all.

Plan of action? A month of using Nasonex nasal spray once a day to see if that will shrink them. If not, he's headed for adenoid removal surgery. So, we are hoping and praying that the Nasonex works, because I'm not sure how I'll handle another surgery in the family!

As for Brynn's day at school yesterday, he wore his kilt all day, albeit with jeans on underneath. He says he was a little embarrassed because people kept asking him why he was wearing a skirt, but I don't think he suffered any lasting damage.
