What Do You Get Excited About?

The above question was posed to us this morning at church, in the midst of a sermon on why we don't live our lives singularly for Jesus. The pastor asked us if we find following Christ to be boring, and then asked the question. It got me thinking; I grabbed a piece of paper and pencil and came up with the following list:

1. Hearing Brynn read to Iann after we put them in bed
2. Watching Iann learn new signs every day, increasing his ability to communicate
3. The peace of nap-time
4. Listening to the boys laugh when Jon tickles/wrestles with them
5. Hearing Brynn say "This dinner is yummy, mama."
6. Paying every bill, every month
7. Seeing the number on the scale go down ... albeit slowly
8. Sleeping all night
9. Long conversations with my friends
10. Realizing that I am blessed, even with all the heartache

So why do I focus on the heartache so much??
